Bethan Jenkins began her studies at Oxford in 1997, first as an undergraduate at Trinity College where she graduated with a first in English Language and Literature in 2000. She then gained an MSt. in Research Methods with Distinction in 2002. During the summer of 2002, she held the Sir T. H. Parry-Williams Scholarship at the Centre for Advanced Welsh and Celtic Studies in Aberystwyth, before obtaining her DPhil in Eighteenth-Century Anglo-Welsh literature at Oxford in 2010. Her particular academic interests encompass issues of National Identity, especially as regards the Four Nations of Britain. She has been studying WMA with the LSD since 2004 and qualified as a BFHS IL1 in 2018.
